The ever
changing IGUANA BAR
This cosy
yet vibrant bar has gone from strength to strength since owner Pascal
created the Iguana Bar with its warm, friendly Med surroundings and
atmosphere. It specialises in entertainment for all, with music from
around the globe.
The Iguana Bar has perfected its chilled vibe, says the Guardian's
student guide to Manchester, especially since the opening of the lounge
area. The venue has given people a platform to perform and is used by a
mixture of entertainers i.e. Jazz, Acoustic, Reggae, Latin, Poetry,
Folk, are just a view and too many to mention in the diverse and
unique set-up.
Monday Night is
renowned for its ever-popular Mirth on Monday comedy night, hosted
weekly by Manchester Comedian of the year 2002 runner-up, Des Sharples.
The four-year old comedy night has broken new boundaries, by bringing
the comedy circuit to new audiences, and has also spawned monthly-themed
comedy nights.
All music tastes
are catered for with a whole cross-section of performers on Tuesday's
Open Mic Night, with many of them playing for our Thursday's Acoustic
Gig Night. Wednesday brings the True Poets Society. Sunday is host to the World Music Night, with sounds such
as the Country and Eastern Band's Turkish and Kurdish music, the Nile
Band's Egyptian sounds, Jazz, Spanish and Irish music, being examples of
what you can hear.
Small functions are
catered for via our function room to the rear of the bar, seating for
around 40 people. Please phone for details, a deposit is required. |
